C. PROBLEMS PLAYING MP3 NEW TESTAMENT OR KIDZ Bible

A CD disc is different from an MP3 disc. They look identical, but a typical CD has only 70 minutes of recording time, needing a lot more discs to record something like our New Testament (16 or 17 CDs). An MP3 disc, on the other hand, has compressed files allowing more recording time. This allows us to put our entire New Testament onto one disc.

So, although the two discs look alike, it is necessary to have an MP3-compatible player in order to play an MP3 disc. A regular CD player will not work because it won’t recognize the compressed files.

However, not all MP3-compatible players are made the same. There is no universal standard. Sometimes an MP3-compatible CD or DVD player will not recognize the software used to compress the files on our New Testament MP3. The software we use is Adobe Audition; iTunes was used to add ID3 tags. It might be a good idea to consult the owner’s manual or call the manufacturer for more information.

The same thing goes for trying to play our MP3 disc(s) on a car stereo. Although a car stereo may accept music CDs, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is MP3 compatible. Please consult the owner’s manual for either the car or the car stereo. But again, even if the stereo does accept MP3 discs, again it may not recognize the software.

One solution to this might be to download the files to your computer’s hard drive (see A), or onto an iPOD (see B).

We hope this information is helpful and that you are blessed by listening to the MP3 New Testament. Please see below for more in-depth information:

I.                     If you cannot play the MP3 New Testament or the MP3 KIDZ Bible in a CD or DVD player, please note that there is no universal standard for any players on the market. Manufacturers do not follow any standard so each one is different technologically. Please refer to the owner’s manual or call the manufacturer’s customer service department.

II.                   If you cannot play the MP3 New Testament or the MP3 KIDZ Bible in a car stereo, please note that the stereo may not be updated with MP3 capability. Again, please refer to the owner’s manual or call the manufacturer’s customer service department.

III.                  If your computer will play the KIDZ Bible music MP3, but not the MP3 New Testament, it might be that ‘Juke Box’ comes up (KIDZ Bible music MP3 is music and ‘Juke Box’ is formatted for music discs only).

a.     Please delete ‘Juke Box’ from the computer, and download Windows Media Player.

b.     Please make it the default for all audio files. Windows Media Player will come up automatically when either MP3 discs are inserted into the computer’s drive. (If already loaded on your computer, go to ‘Library,’ ‘More Options,’ and make sure that all the files in the box are checked.)

c.      There is no need to RIP the files; they are already RIPPED.

IV.               If you are having trouble downloading the MP3 to your computer, please refer ‘A. Downloading MP3 New Testament to Hard Drive.’
