Dear Northside Family Member,
Wow! What an eventful January we have had--so far! I believe Sunday morning worship has been blessed by the Lord in a significant way. Our attendance for Soccer Sunday was larger than Christmas Eve's attendance. More importantly, the messages that day were inspiring and instructive for our lives. Alpha has gotten off to a good start with groups meeting on three nights of the week to take the course. The Letters From Dad introduction barbecue was attended by 65 men. To this point, 41 men are registered for the Letters From Dad experience. I am so glad 12 of those are young men in the 18-25 age group. This weekend, a good sized group of middle and high school students are at Lake Anne Camp in Michigan. There was a generous outpouring of support for Haiti through donations for a book that little Christian Weaston wrote and at the Letters From Dad gathering. We are praying about a strategy for Haiti support short term and long term. Another Northside person has published a book--Larry Buttermore. This Sunday we have Let's Do Lunch after worship for those who have begun attending Northside in the past few months. Beginning this Sunday, we will have the Wilderness as our worship theme for the next four weeks. There is much blessing in the wilderness. I pray that all of us will embrace it more fully.
I have been so amazed by the love of the Lord I have seen expressed by our family of faith through kind deeds. So I bring another need to your attention. A woman has recently begun attending Northside who has vision problems that prevent her from driving. She lives very close to Northside, but just far enough away to not be able to walk. If you are willing to give her an occasional ride on a Sunday, please reply to this message.
In this year of Northside celebrating 20 years of blessing from the Lord, may you have more reason than ever to celebrate his blessing in your life.
